How Engagements work

Collaborating with Barabirang Projects

Please take time to consider the Baramadagal Darug Engagement Guidelines.

Engagements arise through alignment, trust, and direct invitation rather than open calls or speculative proposals. The work I undertake most often takes shape through culturally grounded public art commissions (direct commissions only), community organising to exercise self-determination through Connecting with Country frameworks, community advocacy, governance and board roles, sessional academic roles, guest lecturing and conference presenting, and ongoing creative and cultural practice.

My work is undertaken alongside my role as sole carer to my mother living with Motor Neurone Disease. Capacity, pace, and form of engagement are therefore approached with care and transparency as part of the ethical grounding of the work.

Engagements that respect Indigenous sovereignty, cultural protocols, and these conditions are more likely to be prioritised, sustained, reciprocal, and mutually meaningful.
