Barabirang Projects is excited to accept an invite to join the Wiradyuri Traditional Owners Central West Aboriginal Corporation in Bathurst for the Dhuluny closing event on
14 December 2024.
We will have a market stall with woven items and cultural art available for sale.
The event commemorates the 200-year anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law and the surrounding frontier violence. Two hundred years later, Dhuluny commemorates a period of resistance warfare, violence and massacres and celebrates Wiradyuri resilience and survival.
Dhuluny is a Wiradyuri word for “truth”, “rightness”, or “gospel”, and means rectitude, that which is direct, straight, acting, living. https://www.dhuluny.com.au/
Baramadagal women; Julie Christian, Heidi Duncan, Tara Lloyd and Jayne Christian supported Yamurrah's 'Be About It' 2024 Gala.
We were commissioned to weave 250 pairs of earrings for women attending the Gala, which raised funds for Yamurrah’s RISE initiatives including pro bono counselling, legal advice, and support to victims and survivors of sexual assault, domestic and family violence and for people experiencing grief and loss.
